Add quick reply buttons
Quick reply buttons are tappable options that appear below a template message. The customer taps one instead of typing, and the reply arrives in your Inbox immediately.
They cut friction out of confirmations, feedback, and lead qualification.
What they look like
| Your message | Quick reply buttons |
|---|---|
| Would you like to confirm your appointment? | Confirm · Reschedule · Cancel |
| Are you interested in this offer? | Interested · Call Me · Not Now |
| How was your experience with us? | Excellent · Good · Need Help |
When to use them
- Customer feedback
- Order confirmation
- Appointment confirmation
- Lead qualification
- Product selection
- Support routing
- Service follow-up
Use them whenever the useful answers are few and known in advance. If the answer is open-ended, let the customer type.
Before you start
- Your WhatsApp Business Account is connected to Voixt.
- You have admin access to the workspace.
- You are creating or editing a template that has not yet been submitted to Meta.
- The template content matches what the buttons offer.
Add the buttons
- Log in to the Voixt Dashboard and go to WhatsApp → Templates.
- Click Create Template, or open a draft that has not been submitted.
- Fill in the template name, category, language, type, and message content.
- Scroll to the Interactive Buttons section.
- Select Quick Reply as the button type.
- Enter each button label — short, action-based text like
Confirm,Cancel,Talk to Agent,Book Now. - Preview the message with its buttons.
- Submit the template to Meta for approval.
Buttons are part of the template. You cannot add them to a template Meta has already approved — you would need to create a new template.
Rules
| Rule | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Maximum buttons | 3 quick reply buttons per template |
| Button length | Short. Long labels truncate on small screens. |
| Button meaning | Each label must clearly answer the question the message asks. |
| Button style | Action-based: Confirm, Cancel, Book Now, Talk to Support |
| Label content | Static text only — no parameters |
Best practices
- Ask one question, then offer buttons that answer that question.
- Prefer verbs over nouns:
Book NowbeatsBooking. - Keep labels mutually exclusive.
Yes/Maybe/Yes, laterforces a needless decision. - Give people an exit. A third button like
Not Nowreduces blocks, which protects your quality rating. - Make sure something actually happens when a button is tapped — route it in a flow or to a team member.
Common mistakes
- More than three buttons. Meta rejects the template.
- Vague labels.
Option 1tells the customer nothing. - Buttons that do not match the message. Asking about delivery and offering
Buy Nowreads as a bait-and-switch. - No follow-up. A tapped button that goes nowhere is worse than no button.
- Trying to put a parameter in a label. Labels are static.
Template approval status
Quick reply buttons are reviewed along with the rest of the template.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Meta is reviewing the template and its buttons. |
| Approved | Ready to use in broadcasts and flows. |
| Rejected | Check the reason, fix it, submit a new template. |

Where do button taps show up? As an incoming message in WhatsApp → Inbox, which also opens the 24-hour service window.
