WhatsApp on Voixt
Voixt connects to your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) through Meta's Cloud API. Once connected, you manage every customer conversation from a single workspace: a shared team inbox, approved message templates, segmented broadcasts, and automated flows.
This section covers everything from your first template to running large campaigns without tripping Meta's messaging limits.
What you can do
| Area | What it is | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| Inbox | A shared, real-time view of every customer chat, assignable across your team. | Inbox overview |
| Contacts | The people you can message, organized with tags and custom attributes. | Import & export contacts |
| Templates | Pre-approved message formats required to start a conversation. | Create a template |
| Broadcasts | Send an approved template to a filtered audience. | Create a broadcast |
| Flows | Automated, multi-step journeys triggered by customer behaviour. | Flows overview |
| Insights | Delivery, read, and reply performance for everything you send. | WhatsApp insights |
Two rules that govern everything
Almost every question about WhatsApp messaging comes back to these two constraints. They are set by Meta, not by Voixt.
1. The 24-hour customer service window
When a customer messages you, a 24-hour window opens. Inside that window you can reply with any free-form message — text, images, documents, whatever the conversation needs.
Once the window closes, you can no longer send free-form messages. To reopen the conversation you must send an approved template message. This is why templates exist.
Every reply you send inside the window resets nothing — the clock runs from the customer's last message, not yours.
2. Messaging limits
Your WABA can only start conversations with a fixed number of unique customers per rolling 24 hours. New accounts begin at 1,000. Meta raises this tier automatically as your sending history and quality rating improve.
See Messaging limits for the tiers and how to move up.
Before you begin
You will need:
- A Meta Business Account in good standing.
- A WhatsApp Business Account connected to Voixt.
- A phone number that is not registered to the consumer WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app.
- Admin access to your Voixt workspace.
If you have not connected WhatsApp yet, start with Connect WhatsApp.
A typical first campaign
- Import your contacts from a CSV, and tag them as you go.
- Create a template and submit it to Meta. Approval usually takes minutes.
- Filter your audience down to the people the message is actually for.
- Send the broadcast and watch delivery in the Inbox.
- Review results in Insights.
:::warning Send only to people who opted in Meta measures how customers react to your messages. Blocks and reports lower your quality rating, which stalls your messaging limit and can restrict your account. Keep your quality rating high. :::
